It’s very rare to find a gifted musician, an accomplished academic and an excellent music teacher all in one, but Nihar is a brilliant example. 

 

Having been a classically trained pianist already, I went to Nihar for lessons as I wanted to learn and understand jazz and blues. He was able to adjust my lessons based on my knowledge and requirements to meet my goals. I only took lessons for around a year because I ended up moving to Canada, but I am so grateful for what I learnt in that time and still use those skills till today.

 

Nihar’s mastery of harmony, voicings and improvisation is remarkable. His passion for music is so inspirational. I loved his teaching style, which is very positive, patient and encouraging. Every lesson was so enjoyable. He has helped me develop as a pianist and performer and I am so grateful to have been his student.
